Iğdır Vocational School hosted an important program as part of the 37th Tax Week celebrations held between February 23 and March 1, 2026.
Mesut Akbulut, Provincial Treasurer of Ağdır, and Nigar Kuşçutopal, Director of the Tax Office, met with students from the Finance, Banking, and Insurance Department's Finance Program..
During the visit, comprehensive information was shared about the historical development of the tax administration, its duties and responsibilities, its administrative structure, and current tax practices. Students were also informed about the precautions that should be taken against potential crimes, particularly those that can occur via social media, emphasizing the importance of financial security in the digital environment. The importance of raising tax awareness from a social and economic perspective was also among the key topics of the presentation.
Speaking at the program, Provincial Treasurer Mesut Akbulut provided information to students aiming for a career in the public sector after graduation about the employment processes within the Ministry of Treasury and Finance. The information provided about the entrance exam to the institution, exam subjects, and opportunities for advancement within the institution was followed with interest by the students.
The program, which was completed interactively with a question-and-answer session, contributed to students' career planning in the field of public finance, while also making a significant contribution to strengthening tax awareness as part of the 37th Tax Week events.
